Annual Highlights

For the most part, we follow the same schedule as Central Kitsap School District. Our winter and spring breaks, as well as holidays will always be the same as CKSD. We do not, however, have non-student days when they do.

Apple Sauce Day - Every year near the end of September we make apple sauce in class.  Each child may bring in an apple (not required) or even an whole bag if he has a tree at home!  Together we cut the apples, cook them, add cinnamon, sugar, and stir, stir, stir! Of course we then get to eat it - the next day, after it has a chance to cool down.  Apple sauce day always makes the school smell AMAZING!

Halloween – We have a Halloween party on or near October 31.  On this day, class time will be shortened to 1 1/2 hours.  Children may dress up (non-violent costumes, please) and there will be a ‘fashion show’ circle and lots of fun activities to do.

Conferences - We offer conferences to everyone in the fall. Additional conferences can be held anytime that you desire one. Telephone or email conferences are available as needed. Just call us if you have concerns. (360) 698-7620

Thanksgiving Feast – On the day before Thanksgiving we have a feast!  The children cook and prepare the food on the day before that. Our feast is a long held tradition and is a wonderful time to be thankful for all we have.

Valentine’s Day – We celebrate this day by delivering valentines to each other and by having a special snack.  Otherwise, it is a normal school day.

End of year picnic - On the last day of school, we have a picnic at Mrs. Zegers’ home in Poulsbo. The picnic runs from 10:30 – 2:00.  Bring your lunch and beach toys!
